Help with Ledgers

Post by mrsheen » 12 May 2009, 18:53

Hi,

I'm very new with Sage (using Line 50 on XP) and have been asked to generate reports for the customer and supplier ledgers. Unfortunately the person who was doing it has left the company and I've been asked to do it. I've gone into the reports for both customer and supplier, but can't figure out which ones I need to generate.

Any help would be appreciated.

Shaun

Hi,

If you go into the relevant module (i.e. customers or suppliers) and then into reports... I think you are looking for the aged debtors/creditors reports. You'll find these at the top of the list. Expand these and either run the 'detailed' or 'summary' report. The detailed will give you a breakdown of what makes up the closing balance, whereas the summary will just give you a list of the closing balance. There are various choices within the 'detailed' or 'summary' reports, for example you can run them by balance or by disputed balance, but I normally just run it without any additional choices, so it just runs in alphabetical order.

The total of this report should agree to the trial balance.

Hope this helps.
