I need to increase the the size of the order number field on my Sage Line50 from 7 digits to 8 digits.

can this be done?

It can not be done.

BUT

I sincerely hope you do not have 10,000,000 sales orders in your system.

There are ways around this.

The first question is why do you want to have a larger order number field?

I need the large field because we supply Amazon, and they insist ion 8-digit order numbers.
However, i have managed to resolve it by switching the order number and consignment number field. We enter the order number in the consignment field, and it shows up as an order number.

Sorry, I am misunderstanding you, the customer order reference is limited to 30 and allows for alphanumerics.

I think you may be putting your customers order number in the box on the invoice for your sales order number.

yes, i maent the sales order number.
