Breakage Fee

Post by Geordie613 » 22 Feb 2016, 15:30

Hi, I haven't posted for a long time.

I just wanted to know what everyone thinks.

Is there anything wrong with posting a 'Breakage Fee' under Bank charges. My doubt is due to the fact that a bank charge is for the service that the bank provides, while this is due to my client not using the bank's service, maybe it should be classified as something else.

Thank you.

To my mind "bank charges" are charges by banks/credit card processors, international fund transfer fees, arrangement fees, interest charges, maybe even off set interest earned.

They do not have to relate to one bank account.
