Schedule orders

Post by jimbell » 02 Oct 2015, 09:16

We have regular call off orders that we would like to handle through SAGE
We run on SAGE 50 Pro 2012 version 18.1
The customer wants a confirmation for each shipment that is made as well as a delivery note
If we enter the complete order we can then raise order confirmation
But how do we then issue order confirmation for each part shipment that is made
SAGE only shows the complete order as far as I can see
Any feedback would be appreciated

Not sure exactly what you mean.

There are a lot of ways this could be done.

You could enter a sales order with multiple lines of the same items each with different despatch dates, you could enter multiple sales orders once for each scheduled despatch. You could enter one big order and despatch part of the large order as it is ready/called for/shipped.

I am guessing you want to do the last one?

The order confirmation would be for the whole order not the amount despatch as the order was for the whole amount so not sure what confirmation you are wanting to send the customer.

Perhaps what the customer wants is to know what has been sent? In which case you could do a custom layout on the Sales Order to show

Item, Description, Qty Ordered, Qty Available, QtyAllocated(Reserved), Qty shipped and the Qty Outstanding,

a kind of "Sales Order Progress Report" layout ...

Hi Bruce
Yes your last description is right
"You could enter one big order and despatch part of the large order as it is ready/called for/shipped."
The custom layout on the Sales Order to show
Item, Description, Qty Ordered, Qty Available, QtyAllocated(Reserved), Qty shipped and the Qty Outstanding,
a kind of "Sales Order Progress Report" layout ...

Sounds like it should work
We will have a play with the report designer & see if we can get it using this approach
Thanks for the help!!!!
