Unable to transfer multi companies in Sage to new computer?

Post by ManicMillie » 19 May 2015, 10:45

Good Morning

I'm running Sage 50 Accounts Professional 2010, old laptop is on it's last legs, had to re-install Sage to new laptop, no problem at all but I'm unable to transfer a further two companies accounts in addtion to the main company for whom I perform accounts.

I made sure all accounts were uptodate on old laptop and copied the files below:

Company.000, COMPANY.001, COMPANY.002, COMPANY.003

to this location: ProgramData > Sage > Accounts > 2010

I assumed this would allow me to 'Open Company Data' and select one of the three companies as per the orginal Sage installed on my first laptop, but no luck.

Can you please help? Any information will be much appreciated. Thanks very much.

I suspect the issue is that you have put in the original keycode and that is for a single company that was subsequently upgraded to 3 companies.

If you ring Sage they should be able to look up your licence in their database and give you the most recent keycode.
