Post by Portinfo » 12 Feb 2015, 10:12

Sage - 19.01.11.285

Windows 7 Pro, 64bit

ACCDATA is on a a shared drive on a 32bit Windows 2003 server, which is being retired.

Excel 2003 / Data / Import External Data / Import Data
New Source / ODBC DSN
Next
SageLine50v19
Next
Sage 50 2013 ODBC Connect UserID/Pwd OK

Connection(tab)
Test Connection(button)
Sage 50 2013 ODBC Connect UserID/Pwd OK

Test connection failed because of an error initialising provider.
Unspecified error.

Any advice on Sagev19 ODBC driver is very welcome and appreciated!

Thank you.

Richard.

Sounds like it is not asking you for a path, so is using the default path and this may be wrong.

You can setup a separate DSN you can specify the path and it should work.

or

You can configure the default driver to have the correct path.

I tend to configure it/refresh it using a bit of VBA because you can avoid the ODBC dialogue and having to click ok all the time.
It also makes it a piece of cake, to change versions/paths/passwords etc.
