HI

I have had success with the MAPI issue but on the same client I have another issue with running financial reports. On the machine that had the mapi issue when I goto run a report it shows a message ' the file was created in a an earlier version of report designer it will now be updated. We have tried this on some of the reports but it then shows no data only £0 the report does not come back with the correct. The other PC that works okay is on the same version of report designer and is not prompted to update the reports. Is there a place where you can set the default path it looks for the reports it seems to me as if the problem PC is looking somewhere different for its reports. I have attached two files with the messages

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I suspect that you have different reports on each PC.

I would start by deciding if you want to have different report on each PC or if you want to have one set of reports stored centrally.

(Note: Layouts are always stored centrally)

You need to start by making a backup of the "reports only" on the PC that has good reports.

If you are going for central reports.
go to Setting>Company Preferences>Reports> Tick the box "use Data Path for reports"
do this on every PC.

If the reports are not good, restore your backup of good reports.

====================

If you are going for individual reports.
go to Setting>Company Preferences>Reports> Tick the box "use Data Path for reports"
do this on every PC.

restore your good backup of each PC.

====================

You CAN mix and match and have some use central and some use local, but you need to keep track.

If you don't have a good report only backup there is a set of default reports in C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\20xx\DataRestores\Reports Only Backup.001

replace 20xx with your version number

Some earlier versions don't have this. Most versions do have it on the CD (if you have media).

HI

just a couple of questions if the box is ticked use Data Path for reports what is the default path for the reports. Also if the reports are on the machine where is the default path that sage looks for.

just to confirm if you want sage to not use the central reports you untick the box ?

thanks again for your help its very much appreciated

It's location is not really of any importance as you will not need to access it under any normal circumstances.

The actual "Reports" Directory location is dependant on your sage installation,

The location in the data path is up one directory and down to reports.

Data path \\SageServer\SageShare\SageData\2014\DemoData\ACCDATA
Reports Path \\SageServer\SageShare\SageData\2014\DemoData\Reports

The location on the local PC is relative to the Settings directory, down into the version, down into company.000 down into reports

Settings Directory C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts
Reports path C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\2014\Company.000\Reports
