Suppressing printing on M Line
Good morning
I'm looking to remove the 0 value cells from an invoice when printing. I've already run a search on this forum, and established that I need to suppress printing on these particular values in order to remove them.
However, I am not entirely sure what I would need to input into the conditional formatting to only suppress the 0 values, and not the whole message line (the message itself needs to be printed).
If anyone could offer any assistance, or needs more information, please contact me.
Thanks

Re: Suppressing printing on M Line
Use conditional formatting to suppress printing when product code is M

Thanks for the reply.
However, this is what I have done and it supresses the printing of the whole line, which is not what I'm looking for.
Do you have any suggestions for this?
Thanks

Re: Suppressing printing on M Line
You need to set the condition on the Qty field not on the entire section.
Attach the layout if you want me to look at it.

As you can tell, I'm an absolute beginner. If you could shed some light it would be very much appreciated.

Re: Suppressing printing on M Line
Section 5 is the section that prints when the item is not "non stock"
so in that section click on the quantity field as this is the field you want to suppress from printing
in the properties find conditional formatting
in the conditional formatting click on the right hand ... button and enter the criteria you want to use.
You could do STOCK_CODE = "M" or QUANTITY = 0 or something else.
Then the action part id to suppress printing.
Now when that line prints if the criteria are met, the printing of the quantity will be suppressed and it will not show.
You could repeat the above for the value fields.

Re: Suppressing printing on M Line
Thanks again for the reply.
I'm only selecting the 'quantity' cell in section 5, and having the conditional formatting as STOCK_CODE = "M" and the action being to suppress printing.
However, it is still removing the whole line, and not just the 0 values. (I've also tried the QUANTITY = 0 method)

Can you attach the .layout file to your post?

Re: Suppressing printing on M Line
Sorry to bring up such an old post.
Still having trouble removing the 0 values from these lines. I would send you the .layout file but do not have permission from those in charge.
If there is anything at all that you can suggest, as to why it seems to suppress the whole line, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Suppressing printing on M Line
I think there is a misunderstanding here.
If I understand you correctly, you just want to suppress the zeros, not the line. The easiest way to do this is to change the print formatting of the quantity and value fields. There is a tick box "Suppress if zero".

Yes, this is exactly right! Where will I be able to change the print formatting? As you can tell, I am not particularly knowledgeable about Sage!taxrebel wrote:I think there is a misunderstanding here.

Re: Suppressing printing on M Line
First make sure the Properties panel is displayed. If not...
View > Properties
Select the value field you want to change (so it appears with little drag boxes around it).
Now the properties panel should be related to the field.
Select "Formatting" under Appearances. Click on the [...] to open the window. You should find the "Suppress if zero" option under the numeric tab.

Re: Suppressing printing on M Line
Hi I wonder if you can help me out here.
I have followed your suggest path to surpress the Zero's on printing. I have gone into each field at Item Item Header Row 2 and Row 3 Details and amended the fields with Qty and amounts. The invoice is still printing out the zeros'.
When I get to the formatting window in numeric I see the following :-
1) Style - set to Value
2) Part set to Whole and ticked box to Suppress if Zero
3) Format set to -£1.1 and ticked box Suppress if not a number
4) Max decimals Set to Default no tick box
5) Min decimals Set As Max tick box Dispaly leading zeros
3 to 5 not changed left as found when opened.
Any ideas as to how I get my zero's to go away.
Many thanks
