Multi-line purchase descriptions
We are just starting to use Sage and the 60-caharcter descirption of purchased part is an immediate problem. I need (would like?) to have descriptions on our purchase orders - that come up automatically and don't need typing in - that are 2,3 or even 4 lines long. Can this be done?

Re: Multi-line purchase descriptions
The product description field is limited to 60 Chars, however there are other fields on the Product record that are not.
Front of mind is the web description field.
As far as the screen is concerned when entering orders, only the short description will show, however, you can alter the invoice layout so that instead of printing the description or text field from the item, it could print the web description field from the stock code.
To do this really well, you would want to add an extra section so that you could print the text field for service items, the description field for non service items that did not have a web description and the web description where available.
It is not a layout that a novice would want to try, but if you are fairly savvy then you should have a go. If you get stuck I can do it for you. You might want to do the same sort of thing on invoices and sales orders.
