How do I change the weight values in the product descriptions. I have some objects which only weight gms but sage will only accept kgs.

You have two choices...

Either pretend that everything is in grams instread of kg

or

Increase the decimal places on the weights so that you can enter really small values.

Of course there is a bigger picture question, do you really need to enter the weight?

I'm really new to sage, so bear with me. How would l go about increasing the decimal places. I've looked in the user guide but nothing seems to be in the place where I'm looking for it!! It will probably be really easy but I'm going round in circles with it at the moment.

We need to put the weights in for the tools so they are to hand for postage costs. They vary in range from about 30gms to 5 kgs

Fear not, I have solved the problem.

I was playing about with the settings and decided to amend the quantity decimal places and that in turn amended the weight decimal places at the same time. Silly me, not to have thought of that first.

Thanks for help and guidance, Merry Christmas.

Yes, the quantity decimal places also alters the weights, weird feature.

You might want to alter the decimal precision on the layouts when you print quantities on the invoice / Sales orders / Delivery notes.

You can do neat things like add up the weights and have a total for the shipment.

You could even calculate the shipping costs if you like big formulas!
