Reversal of Stock AO (Adjustment Out)

Post by moon » 10 Apr 2012, 11:14

Dear Mr. Denny,
Hope you are well.

I've issued some stock to production using excel sheets (please have a look at the attachment).

Opening stock was created in tons but mistakenly the issue is made in Kilograms. Can I delete the transactions or can I reverse them?

In Attachment:
In the second sheet an idea is given to reverse, please verify it.
In the third sheet, the stock issue is given in such a way that is should be.

Project costing is an equal concern for us beside the quantity & valuation of stock.

see viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2007&p=6097#p6097

you don't have any cost or sales prices

You seem to be adjusting the same item in and out.

You only need to adjust out the current stock holding then adjust back in the new stock level

Thanks alot for your response, problem in stock is solved.

But another point of our concern is that the project valuation is gone wrong.
For example a stock was held 3.5 tons @ 3200 per ton. We issue 70 kilograms of it. The issue should come 0.070 Tons.
However, we wrongly issued 70 that means in system that 70 tons was issued (I was supposed to issue 0.070 units). Now in the project module, the cost of project is coming 224,000.00 (70 x 3200) for this stock. However, it was supposed to be only 224.00 (0.070 x 3200).

I adjusted stock in with the project reference, it showed stock in the project but didn't show the value in of stock that is why the cost of the project is same as 224,000. It was supposed to be zero after this adjustment so that then I'll be able to issue back 0.070 and the net cost of the project will come 224.00.

Is there any proper way of adjusting it or only I've to do it manually BY PUTTING THE CREDIT TO THE PROJECT IN PROJECT MODULE?
IT WILL BE MOST APPROPRIATE FOR ME TO DELETE THESE STOCK ISSUES..

I think you are experiencing what I was attempting to warn you about.

You will have to adjust them all.

If you do this as project only cost transactions you can import them.
