Conversion from .sly to .report

Post by Piston Broke » 05 Oct 2011, 12:08

I am about to upgrade from v12

I have installed the new version on a different pc and copied the company data across and the new version converted the data no problem

When I tested it all was working ok until I tried to print an invoice or run a report etc, Tried import of old file in report designer, Batch convert via the toolbar in sage itself and going directly to Convertreports.exe all throw up an error mesage thought it might be because the pc didn't have v12 on so installed v12 in a differnt directory and still get the same error, I'm not at that pc at the moment so can't tell you what the exact message is but will update tonight when I'm in front of that pc

I am using XP 32bit as a test machine but will install on win 7 machine when fully functional will be using sage 50 2009

Error is
Method not found: Void Sage Query Engine DataSourceRegistry..ctor()

Well I tried everything and nothing worked for me

as a last ditch atempt I installed sage on a pc that has never had any version of sage on before and it installed ok set up company from back up and ran convert report from within sage and selected all my reports and layouts and they converted, I have now swaped these reports and layouts to my other pc and they are working fine

Hope this helps someone who is in the same situation as me
