Sage Version 2011 project costing

Post by Lisa123 » 02 Apr 2011, 22:45

I had a problem when we upgraded from 2007 to 2011 where purchase orders entered after we upgraded to sage 2011 were being duplicated on the committed costs report, yet only appeared once in the project record.

I ran update 2 and then reindexed the project files and purchase orders and it fixed the problem.

Two months on and have now found another issue with project costing. When a purchase order is cleared by putting an invoice on it should come off of the committed costs report and now appear on the cost transactions by cost code report - but it doesn't. If you click on the project and click on activity it shows the correct position. It comes off of the committed costs report. But it does not appear on the cost code report

So I tried reindexing again and hey presto it all looks fine again! Do I really have to reindex daily for sage to update itself or is there something else I should be doing?

You need to check your data.

Sounds like the index files are not being properly updated, this can lead to all sorts of corruption, it could be something outside of sage eg networking, or users using the same username.
