Large amount of data?

Is the data file bigger than previous backups?

The backup is getting bigger. Is there a way to purge old transactions? How?

You can clear the audit trail, however as you are removing data so you want to make sure you have an archive or a good labelled known backup which you will be able to find in future.

Clearing the audit trail is a date driven operation, backdated transactions entered in the current year could be removed even if you clear up to the start of this financial year.

This process is best done after a year end when you have created an archive and no transactions for the current year have been entered.

You can delete old invoices, sales orders and purchase orders.

Having deleted transactions or cleared audit trail you then to run the compress data option. (I always do a reindex and it promts to do a compression after reindexing)

Hi brucedenney,

Thanks for the reply. I found out that the machine has defective on-board LAN Card. Good thing that they have dedicated one. Issue has been resolved. Performing backup is fine now.
