GDN- Edit default

Post by Mrbrianobrien » 09 Jun 2009, 09:33

Hi Bruce

Sage Ln 50 v14.

When I go to a Sales Order & click on the Despatched Tab, I can see the various Despatch Notes allocated to an order. Can I edit the format of this GDN in Report Designer?

Many thanks

Brian

Yes, but it is a little complicated.

the report you need to edit (yes report not layout) is in SOP Reports>Goods Despatched Reports>Goods Despatch Note
The filename is GDNPRNT.layout

Once you have edited it you will find you can not overwrite the existing copy! So save it in MY SOP Reports

Open up the reports folder in windows explorer and
rename the old GDNPRNTlayout file in the Reports>SOP>Goods Despatched Reports folder
copy the new report from the REPORTS\SOP\My SOP Reports to the Reports>SOP>Goods Despatched Reports folder

Hi

I have been trying to do the very same thing, but I think the GDNPRNT.report file is embedded in Sage somehow, I have tried renameing files and copying a modified report into that folder, but it still prints out the default report. I then moved all the files out of the SOP/goods despatched folder into a temporay folder, so there is no reports showing in that folder. It still prints out the default GDN report.
If you use the file explorer within the report designer and open the SOP/goods despatched report folder, it shows all the reports there, even though I have moved them or renamed them. So they must be embedded somehow.
When you click on GDN with SOP it doesnt give an option as to waht report to print out either?

Any ideas ??

Tony

You need to put the report in the right place.

I suspect you have it in the wrong one.

It can either be the reports folder in the data path or the reports folder on your local machine (this applies to all reports)
