Deleting Old Customer Records

Post by minskintin » 04 Nov 2008, 15:37

Hello,

because of our type of business we have a massive amount of customers in our database which makes it reeeeeally sloooooow to find a customer and it's driving us mad.

Is there a way we can filter out old customers that we've had no dealings with before a certain date? We just can't seem to find a way to do it.

Thanks!

Minskintin :D

Search

Where - Last invoice Date - Is greater than - xx/xx/200x

You could also delete the really old accounts do the opposite search

Where - Last invoice Date - Is less than - xx/xx/200x

Swap
Delete

It will not delete anything with transactions on, clearing transactions at year end with clear audit trail will enable this.

Also worth running reindex and compression.
