Hi, I'm sorry if this question has already been asked, but basically I'm looking for a solution on how to run SAGE line 50 version 9 from an external disk. Our current computer is a bit old and we've bought an 120 GB external harddrive for it, so we'd like to run the SAGE database from it instead of the computer that the software is loaded on.
I've noticed that upon installing the software, SAGE does not give the option of downloading the software on any other drive than the default C.
Does anyone know a way to do this?
Your help is appreciated.

You should be able to chose the installation path when you install V9. I don't have a CD to hand to check. Perhaps you have to choose something other than basic install to get the option?
I suggest you BACKUP (Several times)
Uninstall Sage V9
Reinstall to the new drive.
Restore your Backup.

So I dug out my CD to check this out...
After running the install and it doing the "searching for installed components" there are 2 option express install and custom install.
Choose custom install
On the next screen, there is a browse button to choose the installation directory.
Good idea to use this opportunity to download all the patches for V9 and install them and get yourself up to date.
----------------------
You could just move the database by copying the appropriate folders to the new drive and then altering the company file to have the new path, however, this is going to leave the application on the C: Drive and is much more complex to do.
