User access problems

Post by angie » 24 Jun 2008, 14:37

Using Line 50 V9, on Windows XP
I have inherited this system from predecessors who have all left the business - the only access I have is via a partial access user name. I now need to pass this on to someone else and need to set them up as a user but I do not have access rights.
How can I get the access rights?
None of the listed full users still exist (only me) and I do not know the MANAGER password either.
Can anyone help????

The good news is that you will be able to gain access to all the functions using the MANAGER logon.

The best news is that there is no password for the MANAGER logon - just enter the username of MANAGER and then login.... should be all you need.

Thanks Skysurfer, unfortunately, someone in the past must have put a password on manager - it says the password is incorrect when i dont put one in.
Is there any way to remove it without paying Sage a fortune for it? As this is a very old version I thought it may be possible

Ahh..... that is somewhat more of a problem :(

If you scan down the forum and have a look at one called "User/Password Query" with a last post date of 16th June, you might be able to get some help from Bruce (the site admin).... from that posting it sounds like he may be able to help with a V9 problem.

Sorry I couldn't help any further.....
