New Chart of Accounts setup
New Chart of Accounts setup
I want to set up a new chart of accounts and set up 6 digit nominal codes. I want to keep my exisitng templates and supplier / customer addresses and invoice history etc.... Can I do this wiithout using a rebuild option?
New chart of accounts
As I suspect you're aware there isn't a utility for changing nominal account numbers.
The difficulty that you'll face with dropping the existing nominals and creating or importing a new set is that nominal account numbers pervade the data (customer and supplier defaults, sales orders, purchase orders etc). How much of a problem this is will depend on how much and what data you have.
One option that you do have is creating a new set of data by exporting, adjusting nominals, and reimporting accounts, transactions etc, but you do then lose history.
If you're really stuck we do have a utility and a process that allows in situ migration of nominal account numbers, but unfortunately our costs tend to be too high for many Line 50 users.
