Using 'projects' to replace job costing

Post by shrewsburynick » 28 May 2008, 10:51

We are using Sage 50 accountants (v14, 2008), and are looking to replace our old Job costing v6.1 by utilizing 'projects'.

Does anyone know a way of easily importing timesheets for approx 25 users into projects without one person working record by record to input charges ?

We have simple timesheets to log:

* charge out rate of staff in hours
* charge out rate of equipment used
* mileage

(per project)

Cheers,

Nick

I believe that "at this time" the sage SDK does not support importing transactions, so there is no direct path.

However, you might be able to automate the manual keying of data using a macro program such as auto hotkey http://www.autohotkey.com/

I expect that in the future this will be an option, who knows maybe V2009 will support it, we will not know till the SDK is released.

Thanks for that - I will have a look at the macro.
