Product Codes

Post by Mrbrianobrien » 01 Apr 2008, 14:39

We have recently expanded use of Sage to include order processing. We need to simplify existing product codes to make them more intuitive for new users. How can I change/amend existing product codes?

Many thanks

Sage does not provide any tools to allow you to do this.

If you want to produce a list of old codes and new codes side by side in an excel sheet and can send me your data I can use the tools I have to do it for you, I would have to charge you for my time.

The alternative is to create new codes and to remove the old codes.

You will loose your stock history with your old codes.
You will generate a lot of warnings in maintenance because none of the stock codes on old invoices will exist.
You could leave the old stock codes in place until a later point, you could use a filter (search) to hide them.
For just about anything Sage :- Discount subscriptions, pay-as-you-go support, application integration, reports, layouts, linked excel spreadsheets, analysis or any other help making life with sage easier/less time consuming Contact me.
