Version 4 lost F6 and access to nominal codes

I have recently inherited the job of updating SAGE and all was going well until F6 stopped working and when i wanted to add a new supplier the default nominal code would not save in the record - help!

what version of Sage?

Has anything else changed on your PC, new programs etc.
