Line 50 (v8 - 2008)

Post by KP » 15 Mar 2008, 10:26

Our company has just taken over a small accountancy practice and we need to move 500+ sage line 50 company files to our server. These range across a number of versions (for historical reasons). The various clients are in the form of 'company.000, 001, 002' etc. and without going through each individual company in its own version of Sage Line 50 I want to find find out which client folder matches which company. I have attempted opening up each version of sage individually and in the management screen attempting to scroll through the company and path without success as early versions of Line 50 wont allow you to print the paths or extend the window. Any ideas please? Many thanks.

Low tech - simple...
Use print screen to grab a graphic of the list as you enter sage

If you have any programming experience then you can snaffle the company name and version number out of the setup.dta file.

In terms of setting things up for the future. It might be an idea to give each customer an account reference and then use the account reference as the directory name - perhaps appending the version number.
