I have never employed a password for Sage 10, 11 or 12.
I was using Sage 10 in July for a clients data.
When I restored from one of my own backups.
Sage reported wrong password and does this with every backup!
Can I get out of this?

Re: Password rejected.
Version 10 was a long long time ago so not so easy to help.
Can you access the demo data?
If not then I suspect that sage was installed by a different user, deleting the RSA crypto keys might resolve it.
In windows 11 they are in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys

Re: Password rejected.
Thank you.
I tried reinstalling Sage 12 in Wn-10.
It installs but doesn't start up.
Incompatibility I guess.
I only ever used it for clients; that also used it.

Re: Password rejected.
If you want to install legacy app onto Win 10/11 then the secret is to install them somewhere other than the Program Files or Program Files (x86) folder. I typically create a fold called ProgramFilesXP. Windows introduced extra restrictions on the Program Files folder that legacy applications do not expect so installing them to a non standard location avoid this.
You will also need to install the older version of .net for some applications.
I have Version 12 running on Win 10 and it seems fine to me.
