Which Sage should I buy ?

Post by Willie » 08 May 2006, 16:12

Hi, I wish to purchase a new Sage software package but require it to
produce a P& L for each Area Sales Manager showing Turnover, Cost of Sales, and Net Profit. Which Sage should I buy ? Thanks

There are several ways you could do what you describe, you could use a departmental P&L and have each Sales Manager use a different department.

Or

You could use different nominal codes for each and use incomplete charts of accounts.

I don't know instant accounts, but I am pretty sure that it would do the job the second way, I am not sure if departments are available so you might not be able to do it the first.

As the full purchase price of any sage product is discounted against the upgrade, you could buy Instant and upgrade if it didn't work the way you wanted at no penalty.

Any of the Line 50 range would be able to do it either way.
