invoiced out projects

Post by tw » 08 Jun 2007, 06:56

hello
I keep "projects" to keep track of all transactions.
-Is it possible to raise an invoice from a project?
-Is it possible to update the project once the invoice is raise so I will know which project are invoiced out, Sage doesn't do it automatically.

Any tips will be much appreciated, thanks in advance

Yes, but you have to use stock code S3 you will see a project ref box at the bottom of line item dialogue box.

You can not set up special codes as they are "built in"

What happens when you type S3 in the product code and hit the tab key?

Does this stock code S3 have to be used on every line in a Sales order or can it just be on one?

Is there any other way to put invoices on to projects or is using the credit the only other way. As we use the product codes for other reports.

there is no other way to assign income to a project.

Using the credit?

Product Codes generally have costs associated with them and project costing is not needed.

I mentioned the credit as we are more using the projects module to see what we have left to bill etc not to show income amounts etc. So what I was considering is using the credit to take the invoice amounts off so the costs remaining will only be what hasnt yet been billed.

hello Bruce,
would you please expand the "S3 code" topic. When I type S3 and hit the tab, the new window with choice of codes opens up (M, S1 and S2)
I checked the help menu on Sage but there is nothing about S3.
thank you
