Fund transactions missing from fund activity screen

Post by wadesnj » 19 Jun 2019, 08:31

My customer has coded journal debit transactions to nominal code 7000 and fund code 001. When she opens the Fund Activity screen from the Funds module, these transactions do not show. There are no filters set. However when Fund P&L or a Fund Activity report is produced, these transactions appear. Other items coded to 7000 range accounts do appear in the Fund Activity screen, just not ones coded to 7000.

There was a year end run recently. Prior to this, the 7000 (Wages and Salaries) transactions which had been given fund code 001 DID show in the Fund Activity screen. Sage say this is not a known issue.

There do not appear to be a huge number of Sage customers using the Charities option, so a search of other forums and Sage City have drawn a blank.

They are using Sage 50 Pro v24.2.228

Has anybody had any experience of this?

When a year end is done, all the transactions in the previous year are journaled into retain P&L, then when the transactions are cleared from the audit trail they are replaced with a single journal entry, this effectively destroys all departmental information in the previous years (which is why we don't use departments for projects). I suspect this may be the same case for funds.

If you want to report on funds in the prior year then you can do so by going into the archive created at year end.

Only the current year can be reported on in the current year.
