It is that optional scheduled backup which they told me to disable - did that last night and will wait to see what happens over the next few days - the backups have definitely been created ok as test them off site from time to time just to check

If still appearing will try changing the path as you suggest.

This backup was setup in v22 and have had no cause to look at it since then but when I went to stop it last night it seems to hang for a good few minutes whilst trying to connect to the server - after it eventually connects the status of previous backups with warnings etc are shown and after that could go into settings and switch the backup off.

Other than this and the occasional crash Sage is working fine - just don’t understand this delay getting to the Scheduled Backup settings ?

Afraid don’t know re the licence will have to check with the client - the server is running Server 2016 and the clients are mostly windows 7 pro plus one or two which are on Windows 10.

Kind regards

Geoff

Does the windows 10 machine have the dump files?

Typically the root of c: is not writable by users... I wonder if it is the service that is doing it?

The windows 10 machine has only just been built and isn’t actually bring used in the office as yet - but they do appear on my stand alone windows 10 machine here.

Sage are suggesting all sorts of tests on our network environment but are ignoring the fact that this didn’t happen prior to upgrading to v24 plus it is happening on my stand alone machine here at home.

By the way stopping the scheduled backups did not stop them being generated so have restarted them changing the path to backup direct to Dropbox - FYI we also do manual bavkups as well

I have had a look and found that I have this happening on one of our Windows 10 PC's

I can't seem to find a reason for it.. I will be digging around when I have some spare time.

Many thanks Bruce

For now have a batch file set to run weekly to delete the files but would be very interested to hear if you come up with anything.

Kind regards

Geoff

Bruce, when our accountant checked her pc for those files she told he that at least one had been produced on a day when she wasn’t in the office !

When I checked her machine sure enough there were a couple on Fridays when she is not in but timed at about 9:30 PM - our machines are woken remotely a Friday evenings to run an anti virus scan - but nobody would have been using Sage at that time - all very strange !

Anyway for now I have a task deleting the files each day.
