error saying SBDDesktop.exe - when running VAT report ?

Post by james100 » 29 Jun 2017, 17:13

We had sage setup on an old (c. 10 year) tower computer running W7.

We have recently moved to a 2.5ghz, 8gb ram laptop running W10.

The laptop runs much faster for all the sage operations, but we keep getting a crash when i run a VAT return report.

To cause the crash we open sage and go to : modules > financials > vat return > calculate vat return. We then get an error saying SBDDesktop.exe has stopped working (see below link to image).

At first i thought this could be caused by the anti virus we are running which is Avast. So i went into Avast and created exclusions for Sage, but the error still happens.

For sage system stats please see below link to image (sorry i dont know how to convert them into incline images)

Any ideas ?

This sort of error is normally associated with running reports.

I guess the vat return has reports as part of it's process.

Can you run a TB and see if the radio button is trying to run it to email. If it is change it to preview and run the report, then try the VAT return again .
