Reports won't run- error message on all

Post by coopercap » 08 Jan 2007, 19:51

For no apparent reason I am suddenly getting an error message when running any reports. Example is:

c:\program files\sage\accounts\reports\finance\\*bs.srt contains an invalid path.

Despite a reinstallation this is still happening. Anyone know the problem?

the double backslash is the problem...

Navigate to your Sage installation directory
make a makeup copy of the file called "company" (no file extension)
Open the "company" file using notepad
remove the additional slash off the end of the pathname
save the file

try opening sage.

In the error box, does the path show Program Files (x86)? If so this may be the cause of the error. Try un-installing Sage and then when you re-install do it as a Custom Install and load as C:\Program Files\Sage (NOT Program Files(x86).) This worked for me.

If you are using any version of Sage 50 prior to V14 / V2008 (or any other old windows program aimed at XP) then you should install it to a new directory, using custom install I suggest C:\sage, if you install it into C:\Program Files\Sage it will inherit restrictive permissions applied to the Program files directory and may not work as intended.

My mistake. You are correct, it should go into C:\Sage. Apologies
