Re: Project Activity - what files do I need to access for actual costs

There are a whole bunch of different tables that the data for projects is stored in. Depending on how the cost was entered it can be in one of many different tables. The PROJECT_TRAN table is the core table, all the other tables link to it The joins to the other tables are PROJECT_TRAN.AUDIT_TRAIL_I...

Re: Reducing Back size - non data files

USB sticks are not as good a choice as an online backup product such as one drive, dropbox or google drive. USB sticks can fail, be lost, be left on site and burned in the fire and a whole raft of other potential failure modes.

Belt and Braces is the way to go.

Re: Reducing Back size - non data files

The only reason to do this is to free up disk space. Assuming you have a policy of keeping a range of backups, then you would probably have 1 backup for each year end for the last 7 years, one for each month of the current year and 1 for each working day for the last 25 days or so 7+12+25 = 44 each ...

Re: Sage 50 Cloud Accounts downgrade

The problem existed in V28 so not much point in going back.

I suspect the background image is the issue, it should be a quick fix, although not heard anything for a while.

Re: Deleting Nominals and related transactions

Unfortunately as you have not back dated the journal it can not be removed. You could restore an earlier backup perhaps? Archiving just makes a copy of the current data. Clearing the Audit Trail is what removes transactions and they need to be dated before the cut off date, vat reconciled, bank reco...

Re: Deleting Nominals and related transactions

You are correct. You need to make sure that the account is zero, that all the transactions on the account have a date which is less than the date you are clearing to, that all the transactions have been bank reconciled, paid and have been put on a VAT return. If any of these conditions are not met, ...

Re: Deleting Nominals and related transactions

I suggest you clear the audit trail to a year before the start of the current financial year. You can also delete all invoices, sales orders, purchase orders etc the current year data set only needs the current year in it, keeping the prior year will enable you to deal with 95% of historical queries...

Re: Deleting Nominals and related transactions

It is not possible to do selective clearing by nominal code as all transactions interact with other nominal codes.

There is only one selection criteria and that the date.

Why don't you clear the audit trail and delete the nominals?

Re: Sage 50 Cloud Accounts downgrade

You can do several things to reduce the size of the report when saved as PDF. You can use different image formats with different compression, increasing compression makes files smaller. You can use a smaller image and scale it in the report to make it the right size. Both of these exchange size for ...
