Re: Line 50 Pro V9 - Common.js Problem

The error message should include the full path to the common.js file - see if it actually exists in the path and, if it does, delete it and try the restore again.

Re: HELP WITH CLEARING VAT TRANSACTIONS

Not running a year end wouldn't affect the reconciliation.

If you go to Company -> Financials and have a look at any of these transactions, what appears in the 'VAT' column?

Re: Line 50 Pro V9 - Common.js Problem

common.js is not a Sage file (I believe that it is a javascript file) so I'm not sure why it would be part of the backup... Do you still have Sage installed on the other PC? If so, go into Sage and do a 'Data Files only' backup and see if that restores on the other PC. With regards to v2011, I belie...

Re: Exporting pdf statements with Windows 7 - Line 50 versio

Is it the 64bit version of Windows? If so, the PDF driver that Sage use is not compatible with 64bit operating systems. If you go to www.sage.co.uk/updates and download the Report Designer Update, I believe that it solves the problem.

Re: Name of the countries who is using sage line 50

It is sold as a UK product for the UK market but is also used extensively in both Australia and New Zealand...

Technically, it could be used anywhere as the principles of double entry bookkeeping are universal but, clearly it is designed to be used with UK VAT.

Re: Sage 50 Backup / Restore issue

Just to update the thread in case anyone else has any ideas...

The data restores into v2011 (which recognises it as a v2010 backup) and converts with no issues. However, my copy of v2010, like the OP, believes the data to be from v6 although v2009 can't detect the version number at all...

Re: USER ACCESS RIGHTS REPORT

There is no report that lists the user access rights as the table is not exposed to the Report Designer nor is it available externally via the ODBC driver. As for changes to Customers & Supplier, if the Event Log (Tools -> Event Log) has been switched on then that information is recorded. John

Re: Sage 50 Backup / Restore issue

If you are willing to do so, I'd be happy to take a look, free of charge, at one of your backups and see if I can get it to Restore in any of the versions of Sage that I have installed - if we can prove that the backup is OK, we can take it from there... Drop me an email to john.donnelly@leyburnsolu...

Re: Sage 50 Backup / Restore issue

Go into Sage and go to Help -> About -> System Information and, from the left hand side, select Directories. Right click on the data folder and choose Go To Folder which will open the data folder in Windows Explorer. In the folder that opens, can you see either an ACCDATA or an ARCHIVE folder - if s...

Re: Auditing users in Sage 2010

There is not Yes there is albeit it is not switched on by default. You need to log on as MANAGER then go to Tools -> Event Log, select Settings and change to '3 - Information'. From there on, every user logon and logoff is logged and can be checked by going back to Tools -> Event Log. John

You need to enter a full opening trial balance - once you have done so, the suspense account will return to zero. As an example, even if your just starting up, the money in the bank must have come from somewhere, a directors loan for example or capital introduced so you;d need to enter that as an op...

Re: cannot update customer payments received

This is often due to corrupt user access rights. Try logging in as a different user or MANAGER and see if that works - if it does, delete your user logon and create it again.
