i have a similar problem where we issued a couple of cheques several months ago and they haven't been cashed by the payees for some unknown reason. They were dated over 6mths ago so are not valid for presentation (but, having worked in a bank I know that chques dated over 6mths old can easily slip ...

I too having been experiencing this problem.

Originally, I experienced the problem with other applications as well and eventually realised that my PC's default date format was US mm/dd/yyyy, so I changed it to UK dd/mm/yy.
