Change location of data files

Post by mellena07 » 15 Sep 2006, 09:24

Current setup of sage is in a local machine. Will it be possible to transfer the data files to a mapped network drive without reinstalling sage? The reason for this is so we can always include the data of sage on our daily and weekly backups.

Please advise if this is possible and steps on how to do it.

Thanks...

No problem.

The path to the sage data is store in a plain text file called company in the sage installation directory.

It has no file extension so you will have to tell windows to open it with notepad, but once opened, you can just type in the new path and move the directory it is that straight forward.

I've just spent a whole day talking to various support 'experts' who said this was to complicated to do. Did it 5 mins ago, works a treat. What did we do before forums?! Thanks
