Sage accounts 2007 closes after password

Hi,

I hope someone can help. We've been tearing our hair out trying different things to get it to work.

A week ago or so, Sage accounts 2007 stopped working. After double clicking the Sage Accounts shortcut, the splash screen appears and the login prompt.

After entering the username and clicking ok, the login prompt disappears, but nothing opens. We have tried various users including Manager, without success. It still recognises incorrect usernames and passwords with the normal error message.

We have looked across many forums and websites, tried checking permissions, running as admin, deleting the queue file, etc but nothing has worked so far.

It's Sage 2007, running on Windows Vista 32bit

the shortcut is on the desktop and links to: c:\program files\common files\sage SBD\SBDDesktop.exe and "opens in" c:\program files\sage\accounts .

Does anyone have any ideas?

There are a bunch of things that cause this.

1/ IE8 upgrade gone wrong. Lokk in favorites folder for damaged foldernames and fix them
2/ SBDesktop error, install the sbddesktopbuild107.exe patch from the Sage support site.
3/ Sage installation Error, reinstall from CD
4/ V2 .net error, un-install .net V2 and Sage - then reinstall Sage from CD it will install .net as well.
