DOS version Line 50 - Changing the Year

Post by Roger Bayley » 20 Aug 2010, 07:55

Hello Sage users,

I know it may sound strange to many of you but there are many Sage accounting users out there that still use and actually choose to remain on an MSDos version of software. On my travels I get to see the programmes running in loads of offices.

Small companies do not need many of the facilities in the Line 50 and it works perfectly well.

I have a problem with changing my year end that's all and wondered if anyone can help.

I ran a year in Feb which was actually at 1/2 year and then another period end in April for the Tax man. This was at the request of my Accountant to get us inline with HMRC. The system still thinks that my year end is 31/08/10.

Please can you assist with this question?

Will I be able to reinstall Line50 at the end of August, create a new year period provided there are no September transactions posted?

MSDOS version is still fine and people do use it and some 3rd party companies like ours will still support it.

Running a year end is not the same thing as changing the year end (only for sage it is the year start).

You need to go to "Utilities" "Defaults" "Company Year Start" to change it.
